Orb 1.1: automatic updates
Orb now updates itself: a quiet banner appears in the dock when a new version is ready, and installs in one click.
Orb keeps itself up to date. When a new version ships, Orb tells you right inside the app and installs it in one click.
What's new
- In-app updates. Orb checks for new versions in the background. When one is ready, a quiet banner slides in at the bottom of the dock: See the release opens these notes, Update downloads, verifies and installs it, then relaunches Orb.
- Check for Updates… any time. A new menu-bar item runs a check on demand.
- You're in control. Turn automatic checks off in Settings → Updates; manual checks always work.
- Signed and verified. Every update is Developer ID–signed, notarized, and verified with an EdDSA signature before it's installed.
Requirements
- macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later.
From here on, new versions of Orb arrive right where you work: one click in the dock.
